We help build the Netherlands. We protect, connect, and transport. We are pioneering with technology, work on hydrogen, emission-free sailing, and the world of tomorrow. We do this safely and intelligently. We are the hands that get things done, the minds that create solutions, and the feet firmly planted on deck. From bridge operator to dredging specialist. From engineer to freight forwarder. From captain to communications specialist. Young or experienced. Practical or academic. Vocational, higher professional, or university educated, we do it together. That container that was just unloaded? That dike protecting your home? That energy generated at sea? That package you just received?

What can you expect from the Mpowered campaign?

  • Shifting the perspective of “a distant world out on the water” toward a sector that is close to people and makes everyday life in the Netherlands possible
  • Reaching the general public
  • Giving stronger recognition and meaning to the orange “M” associated with the sector

How are we going to do this?

With a fun PR campaign (stay tuned!) and a mix of communication channels, including:

  • Social media
  • Mobile display advertising (on apps and websites)
  • Connected TV advertising (for example through ad-supported streaming subscriptions)
  • Digital out-of-home advertising (such as posters at bus shelters)

There will also be a sector-wide activation campaign.

When will this take place?

  • The PR campaign will take place in June
  • Advertising activities will continue throughout the year during several campaign periods
  • The maritime sector itself will also actively contribute throughout the year

What are the objectives?

  • Position the maritime cluster positively within the Netherlands
  • Increase general awareness of the maritime sector
  • Promote a better understanding of the diversity and opportunities within the maritime sector
  • Attract new talent and retain existing talent

Will you join us too?

A strong campaign requires a collective effort. Thanks to sponsorship contributions from various industry associations and companies, the Mpowered campaign has been launched. However, to realize its full potential, involvement from the entire maritime sector is essential.

Industry associations, companies, and institutions are therefore encouraged to join the campaign and collectively demonstrate how vital the maritime sector is to the future of the Netherlands.
