This is the privacy policy of The Dutch Maritime Network. In this policy we explain, among other things, why we collect and use personal data, which data this is and what rights you have when we process your personal data.

Who are we?

The Dutch Maritime Network is the connecting factor within the maritime sector with the aim of facilitating an innovative maritime sector, which is strong at home and abroad through mutual cooperation between members and stakeholders. We promote, influence and stimulate. We also make connections with related sectors when common interests are involved.

What is the scope of this general privacy policy?

In this privacy policy you will find general information about the processing of your personal data by The Dutch Maritime Network. In addition, you can find out how to can contact us and exercise your rights.

What data do we collect and use?

If we collect and use your personal data, it is usually because you have contacted us yourself and provided information about yourself. For example, when signing up for our newsletter or for an event.

It is also possible that your personal data appear in our files without you having provided this information yourself. For example, when we have received your data from one of our members.

Do we process your personal data on the basis of your consent?

Then you can withdraw your consent at any time. From that moment on, we no longer process your personal data. Unless there is (also) another basis for processing your data.

Communication

The Dutch Maritime Network regularly communicates about the latest developments in the maritime sector. We do this in different ways.

We also organize events, conduct e-mail campaigns and send newsletters. In order for all these activities to run smoothly, the use of personal data is often necessary. We only do this after we have received your permission (e.g. by signing up for our newsletter or an event). You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time or to unsubscribe via an unsubscribe option.

How do we secure your data?

In order to protect your personal data, The Dutch Maritime Network has taken appropriate security measures in line with the applicable legal requirements and guidelines. We store your data in accordance with laws and regulations.

How long do we keep your data?

We do not store your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purpose for which we process your data. But sometimes we are obliged to keep your data longer. For example, if this is stated in the Archives Act.

Do we share your data with third parties?

In order to perform our tasks, it may be necessary to share data with other parties (third parties). If we share your data outside the Netherlands, we will inform you about this separately.

For example, we may share data to register you as a visitor (to an event or meeting) so that you can be let in by the receptionist. In that case, we will ask you for permission in advance.

What are your rights?

You have a number of privacy rights. For example, you can ask us which personal data we process about you. And if the data is not correct, have it corrected. In some cases you can also ask us to delete, transfer or restrict the processing of your data.

Finally, you can object to the processing of your data. And do you disagree with how we process your data? Then you can report a privacy complaint to us.
